Privacy Policy

mieru does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number, and there is no account sign-up.
To produce tidying steps, your photo is sent to an AI provider (Google or Anthropic) for analysis. mieru's server does not keep your photos.
To improve the app, we collect anonymous usage records. You can turn this off in Settings.
We use RevenueCat to check the status of your subscription (Pro). There are no ads and no tracking.

Photos

The photo you take (or choose from your library) is resized and sent to mieru's server, a program run by the developer on Cloudflare, Inc.'s platform. The server passes the image to Google LLC's AI (Gemini), which identifies the items in the photo and produces tidying steps. If Google's AI cannot respond (for example, it times out or is busy), the same image is passed to Anthropic, PBC's AI (Claude).

• Photos are sent only after you tap "同意する" (Agree) in the introduction, and only when you take or choose a photo or tap "読み直す" (Read again).
• Along with the image we send only its size (width and height in pixels) and a passphrase shared by all users that tells the server the request comes from the app. We do not send your name or any device identifier.
• mieru's server does not store your photos or the AI's answers (item names and step text). They are discarded once the answer is returned to the app.
• Images passed to the AI providers are handled under each provider's API terms and privacy policy:

Please do not send photos that show people or anything you would not want others to see.

Data stored on your device

The following is stored only on your device:

• Settings (reminder time, notifications on or off, and whether to send usage records)
• The number of free photos used and photos taken that day, whether you have Pro and when your free trial ends, and your consent to sending photos to the AI
• Your most recent photo and its steps, including which steps you marked done (so you can continue later; it is replaced when you take the next photo)
• Usage records that have not been sent yet (see below)

Reminders and the notice the day before your free trial ends are notifications scheduled on your device; nothing is sent off the device for them. Deleting the app deletes everything stored on your device.

Usage records

To improve the app, we send the following anonymous records:

• A summary of each photo: which allowance it used (free, trial, Pro, etc.), camera or library, whether steps were produced (or which error occurred), the AI provider and model, the number of steps, steps marked done, re-reads, how it ended (all done, moved on to the next photo, or retaken), and seconds until all steps were done
• Progress each time you mark a step done: the number of steps, how many are done, which step it was, whether it was after a re-read, and seconds since the steps appeared
• The buttons you pressed in the introduction, and your choices on the Pro screen (where it was opened from, the plan chosen, and whether you started or closed it)
• Attached to every record: the date of use (day only), the app version, and the platform (iOS, etc.)

They do not include your name, device ID, advertising ID, exact time, photos, or step text. Records are stored in the developer's database on Cloudflare and used only to improve the app. They are never shared with other companies or used for advertising. When you are offline, records are kept on your device and sent later.

To stop sending them: turn off "利用の記録を送る" (Send usage records) in Settings. Nothing more is sent, and unsent records on your device are deleted.

Because the records are anonymous, we cannot find or delete the records of a particular person. We keep them only as long as needed and delete them when no longer needed.

Server operation records

Each time a photo is analyzed, the server records: the AI provider and model used, whether the backup AI was used, the type of result (steps produced, nothing to tidy found, or the type of error), the number of steps, the time taken, the amount processed by the AI (tokens), and the date (day only). This is to check AI costs and operation; it does not include photos, step text, IP addresses, or device information. These records are kept regardless of the "Send usage records" setting.

Requests to the server include your IP address by the nature of the internet. The server counts requests per IP address for a short time to prevent abuse, but does not store IP addresses.

Subscriptions (Pro)

Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store; the developer never receives your payment information (such as card numbers).
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to check the status of your purchase and to restore purchases. An anonymous identifier generated by the app (not linked to your name or email address) and your purchase records (product, date, country, etc.) are sent to RevenueCat. They are used only to check your purchase status, never for advertising or tracking.

Third parties

Apart from Google and Anthropic (photo analysis), RevenueCat (purchase status), and Cloudflare (the server and record storage), we do not share information with third parties. The app contains no third-party analytics, no ads, and no tracking.

This page

This page is served by Cloudflare, Inc. Its servers may temporarily keep standard access logs (such as IP addresses); the developer does not view or use them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its "Last updated" date.
